Zimbabwe
They talk of sustainable living as if its achievable in a fortnight. This is the sad truth that we facing in Zimbabwe. All that the government does is huff and puff smoke and dust, yet they don't have any solid plans in place.Every sector that should be contributing to the development of the nation is crumbling bit by bit.
Years back, Zimbabwe used to be the bread basket of Southern Africa.Commercials farms were operating at 100% capacity.Yes they may say all the farms were in the ownership of the minority and the blacks wanted their birth-right.From my point of view, i can gadly say that was the deadliest mistake that our government ever made. That was the biggest shortfall ever made.It was supposed to be wake Up call that we needed as Zimbabweans but hey, we turned a blind eye to everything and focused on our land grabbing agenda.
Blacks went on a rampage throughout the nation torching farms and farm houses.Destroying multi-million dollar equipment. As blacks we envisaged a free nation, no colonial imprints, no white supremacy, only black autocracy. This turned out to be the smoking gun in Zimbabwe's decline.
As the whites left their farms, that did not only affect agriculture but it also affected mining and the money markets. Zimbabwe's economy in the next coming years fell by more than 1000 points. Inflation rose to more than 1000%.
Here we are today, engaged in one uniquely different war.A war that can't be won through guns and bullets. One that requires mentally astute leaders.A financial war, much worse than the American Great Depression. One question i have is, "What is it that our leaders intend to do about the economic meltdown since changing currencies like clothing hasn't worked."
